Minnesota statue §573.02 allows “next-of-kin” family members to pursue claims against drivers who negligently caused the deaths of others in automobile accidents and their insurance carriers. Sadly, many of these deaths are caused by drunk driving.

At our office, we always treat the death of a loved one with utmost care and sensitivity. I am also prepared to act quickly to investigate and obtain crucial factual information right away so that the rights of family members can be pursued.

One of the largest and most compelling cases we handled a number of years ago involved a young mother who left another law office and came to our firm after being told that she didn’t have much of a case. This case involved the death of her young daughter and serious injuries to the mother. Both were pedestrians struck by a fuel truck. 

After dozens of depositions, we were able to prove that the owner of the fuel truck was not only negligent but also had multiple D.O.T. violations. When the trucking company insurer was finally forced to accept responsibility, the parents not only felt vindicated, but they also received a sizable structured settlement to assist them and their surviving children.
